Accelerating Students’ Progress in Developing Doctoral Studies' Conceptual/Theoretical Frameworks
Based upon our extensive experience in reviewing doctoral students’ prospectuses, a chronic challenge is meeting rubric requirements for their conceptual and theoretical frameworks. The principal learning objective for faculty is to understand how to accelerate students’ progress in both defining and developing their conceptual/theoretical frameworks. This objective will be addressed by:
1. Identifying key problem areas in addressing rubric requirements for frameworks.
2. Providing examples of constructive feedback to students for each key problem area.
3. Integrating faculty breakout sessions for reviewing, analyzing, and discussing examples of students’ actual submissions of conceptual or theoretical frameworks.
